Shorebirds are perhaps the most inspiring migrants on the planet with dozens of species crisscrossing the globe twice a year, completing unimaginable physical feats. But these champions of flight are also champions of all looking alike! Join BRANT guidesfor a weekend workshop aimed at teaching you how to identify these wonderful birds using a well rounded, impression based ID strategy. The workshop will be based in and around the Galveston/Bolivar region of the Texas coast during the height of shorebird migration.
In addition to the massive numbers and diversity of shorebirds moving though the area, the gulf coast hosts a world class migration spectacle that includes nearly all eastern neotropical migrants! So while shorebirds will be the focus, we’re sure to spend plenty of time exploring and enjoying multitudes of warblers, thrushes, vireos, flycatchers, raptors and so much more!
