BRANT and Canopy Family have joined forces to bring you another amazing Panamanian Adventure.
We’ll begin our journey by exploring the famous Canopy Tower along the banks of the Panama Canal. This region is well known as a mecca of tropical birding with sites such as the legendary Pipeline Road, and the nearby mountains of Cerro Azul and Cerro Jefe. After we’ve whet our appetite with the stunning plumages of more regular Central American birds, and a few Panamanian endemics, we’ll venture deep into the Darién Jungle of far eastern Panama. Long coveted by birders as an impenetrable haven for biodiversity, the Darién is perhaps the most species-rich region in all of Central America and its jungles harbor an impressive array of flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world. For six days we’ll explore these mysterious jungles by foot, dugout canoe, and 4×4 with opportunities to interact with the indigenous tribes living deep in the jungle and of course, to visit the nest site of the Holy Grail bird — the Harpy Eagle!
