Step back in time to a paradise of Maya history, where the birds and wildlife are nothing less than fantastic. The region's vast wildlands and diverse habitats harbor an incredible array of biodiversity. We have developed this tour to encompass not only great birding but all types of wildlife and cultural exploration through a combination of birding, snorkeling, boat rides, Maya archaeological site exploration and more.
The tour moves through jungle lodges, river systems, wetlands and the edges of Maya ruins, with time built in for both serious birding and the kind of slow looking that makes the tropics worth the trip. Expect a mix of species you simply cannot find anywhere else, from Jabiru and Orange-breasted Falcon to trogons, motmots and the small forest birds that reward patience.

The Belize Botanic Gardens - maintaining the national botanic garden is just the start. This organization is a leader in local conservation and natural education, running projects that range from training local gardeners and naturalists to restoring threatened habitats.
The Belize Zoo - much more than a zoo, this is one of the largest and most active local conservation and education groups. The animals here are rehabilitated wild creatures or rescues from circuses and the pet trade, and the organization provides wildlife rehabilitation, outdoor education and conservation support across the country.
